Kind July Conversations

19 June 2021

Warm greetings on a chilly day!

Last newsletter I mentioned my work with StayKind.org a charity aimed at making Australia a kinder place. Our major campaign, Kind July, is just around the corner.

I’ll be interviewing five prominent Australians each Thursday evening in July at 7 pm (Eastern Time). Kind July Conversations are free, online events, but a donation is always appreciated.

You can book your place for AOTY Grace Tame’s conversation here:

You can book your place for maths supremo Eddie Woo conversation here:

Meanwhile, I’ve just returned from the Southern Highlands Food Trail which has filled me with inspiration. It would be remiss of me not to ‘bottle’ the experience so I can share it with you. Incidentally, I did some Instagram reporting from the tour, if you’d like to take a look: https://www.instagram.com/Lemon_Sesame/

One theme emerged from the week. Many of us are searching for an essence; something which captures the memories of experiences we love. I wrote about that here:

This week one of my favourite authors, Janet Malcolm died. There have been several obituaries but I’d rather share some of her writing with you. Here’s a delightful New Yorker profile of designer, Eileen Fisher.

Can’t wait to see you for Kind July!

Wishing you warmth inside and out,

Jane x
